A Geisha from Pitalito was paid at US$90 per pound in the Huila auction

On October 4, in Neiva, bidding at Huila Hunt 2026 stopped at 90 dollars per pound. The winning lot is a washed Geisha from La Fortuna farm, Bombonal village, Bruselas township, in Pitalito. It was produced by Víctor Félix Ramírez Cruz. The panel gave it 92.80 points on the Specialty Coffee Association scale, with notes of peach, jasmine and panela, floral profile and silky body.

The auction was organized by the Huila Governor’s Office and Onelli Lab, within the International Coffee, Cocoa and Agrotourism Fair, FICCA 2026. 133 small lots entered. 24 advanced to the final, from Acevedo, Pitalito, La Argentina, La Plata, Guadalupe, Oporapa, San Agustín, Palermo, Isnos, Colombia and Tarqui.

The La Fortuna lot weighs 100 kilos. It was purchased by Johan Manuel Cerquera, of Brupal Coffee Quality, along with three other businesspeople. The announced destination is Colombia and the United States.

It was not the only high price. A washed Geisha from La Argentina went for 85 dollars per pound, with two buyers and the same pair of destinations. Another washed Geisha from San Agustín was auctioned at 40 dollars per pound. The Governor’s Office indicated that the highest-rated coffees also go to Israel, England, Italy and the United Arab Emirates.

Governor Rodrigo Villalba Mosquera attended the auction together with social manager Angela Parra Fajardo. He attributed the result to the work of the department’s coffee growers.

That number does not transfer to the commercial coffee cargo. It is the price of a small, cupped lot, with an adjusted processing protocol and a buyer looking for that profile. It serves as a sign that Huila continues to place specialty coffees abroad, not as a reference for settling the farm’s volume coffee.
